    The SOM-CYCLONE-V-SE module is based on the Cyclone V SE family FPGA from Altera. Alongside with the FPGA, an ARM ® Cortex ™ -A9 MPCore ™ 800 MHz processor is integrated on a chip. The module has a DDR4 RAM of up to 1 GB.

Usage

    Due to the large number of logic elements, the module can be used in DSP blocks, industrial automation. Rich set of interfaces allows you to interact with sensors and other modules in system. The built-in processor expands the functionality and allows you to perform algorithms that works effectively on CPU rather than FPGA.

Processor

    The Cortex-A9 processor is a high-performance, low-power, ARM macrocell with an L1 cache subsystem that provides full virtual memory capabilities. The Cortex-A9 processor implements the ARMv7-A architecture and runs 32-bit ARM instructions, 16-bit and 32-bit Thumb instructions, and 8-bit Java bytecodes in Jazelle state.

Specificity of design

The module is made on a PCB with a thickness of 2 mm and dimensions (LxW) 54 x 44 mm. On the lower side of the board there are connectors for connecting to the motherboard.

   Ethernet lines are implemented at the MAC address level. For the Ethernet access, an external Ethernet Transceiver is required.
